Institutes Innovation Council (IIC) Regional Meet was hosted by G H Raisoni College of Engineering (GHRCE) Nagpur on 13th December 2023. This regional meet was conducted under the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell & AICTE. This meeting aims to bring existing and prospective IIC institutions together, to provide a platform for sharing I&E knowledge and best practices in HEIs, to celebrate the achievements and impact created by IIC Institutions and to witness the successful emergence of innovators and startup founders from HEIs.
The inauguration function began with a welcome address by Dr. Sachin Untawale, Director of GHRCE highlighting the major achievements & activities under the innovation cell of the Institute. The chief guest of the function was Shri. Vikas Chandra Rastogi, Hon’ble Principal Secretary, Higher & Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra. The Guest of Honor were Dr. Rajendra Kakade, Advisory I AICTE, New Delhi, Dr. Vinod M. Mohitkar, Director DTE, Maharashtra, and Mr. Dipan Sahu, Assistant Innovation Director, Ministry of Education’s innovation cell, New Delhi. Chairman RGI Shri Sunilji Raisoni presided over the function. During the address of Shri Vikas Chandra Rastogi, he focused on the lead taken by Autonomous Institutions & implemented skill courses as suggested by NEP 2020. He also stated the features of NEP 2020 & also stated the flexibility in learning changed the entire paradigm. The innovation brings the nation to top. He also emphasizes the scheme ‘Paris Sparsh’ in which good & major institutes guide the small institutes to empower them in terms of accreditation. In the address of Dr. V Mohitkar, he talked about the implementation of NEP 2020 in professional Govt. Institutes from the current session and remaining institutes will be targeted from the next academic session. He also talked about the student’s ideas conversion into innovation through idea competitions and bringing all ideas into a framework that the progress of the institute as well as the nation. Dr. Rajendra Kakade, Advisor I AICTE, congratulated all participants & innovators. He stated that the NEP 2020 policy will strengthen the institutes and education system. He briefed various schemes of AICTE and concluded with wishes to all innovators and organizers. Mr. Dipan Sahu talked about the innovation ecosystem and Viksit Baharat by 2047. He stated the 6I strategy in his talk viz—individual, Institutions, Intelligence, Innovation, Industry & Intellectual. Maharashtra state is at the top in terms of IIC institutes, as stated by him. Shri Sunilji Raisoni delivered the presidential address and greeted GHRCE & organizing team for the conduction of the event. The meeting was comprised of a Round Table interaction session graced by officials from the Ministry of Education, AICTE, and prominent regional ecosystem enablers from the Western region followed by 5 tracks of Innovation Ambassador, YUKTI Innovation & IPR Repository, Mentor-Mentee & Impact Lecture, IP Commercialization & Technology Transfer and ATL School Linkage which were led by eminent experts Shri Arvind Londhe, Dr. Jamir Kaur Randhawa, Dr. Khushi Sindhi, Dr. S B Jaju and Dr. D V Padole. The Round Table meeting was graced by officials from the Ministry of Education, AICTE, and prominent regional ecosystem enablers from the Western region. In all 450+ participants reported for the meet and took advantage of all sessions. In this program, a poster competition was organized in which 50+ innovations & startups from the host & other IIC Institutions were demonstrated. The innovation gallery was also organized under this event. YUKTI Innovations/ Startups, Kartavyabodhi sessions, and Udyami Bazaar (Entrepreneurs Meet) were the main attractions of this meet. The regional meet was made successful by Dr. Sachin Untawale, Director GHRCE, Steering Committee Member Dr. Dinesh Padole, Dr. S B Jaju, and the entire organizing team.
